Geoff Brunt joined Birmingham International Airport Ltd in May 2005 as a Building Services Technician within the Engineering Department following the closure of Rover.  He was relieved and excited at the prospect of a new job and new challenges. 

Geoff demonstrated great enthusiasm for the learning opportunities within the airport and as a former Rover employee he was eligible for the Learning and Skills Council funding offer to help him train in his new job.  His manager along with the Company Training Manager identified a skills and training programme to support Geoff in his work.  Geoff has developed his IT skills and gained CLAIT qualifications.

The airport prides itself on its record for safety and security and Geoff has completed security awareness training and an accredited British Safety Council level 1 health and safety at work qualification.  To support his work within engineering Geoff has completed an introduction to ventilation and air conditioning course, City and Guilds qualifications, asbestos awareness, hearing conservation, conflict resolution,fire engineer's course and ground power training.
