The Move On project moves on up!

The Move On project was established in July 2003 to broaden the range of Skills for Life learners to include more at level 1 and 2, to diversify the learning menu, and to promote the value of the national qualifications in Skills for Life.  It has been successful and exceeded all of its targets.

Tribal CTAD has been commissioned by the QIA to carry out a phase 2 Move On project called 'Move On Up'.  A summary of the plans can be found on the Move On website, http://www.move-on.org.uk

The new project builds on the success of the first project and broadens its scope, building in the additional strands of Move Up, Test the--- and Get On at work.  Its dominant theme is that of mainstreaming, through a strategic approach.

The mainstreaming will provide Move On with an opportunity to work with key organisations and agencies to embed the Move On approach to Skills for Life as part of the whole organisation and the wider skills agenda.

The Move On project has focused largely on level 1 and level 2 learners, but the methodology of dissemination and support and aspects of the Move On model were also thought to be appropriate for Entry 3 Level learners. The project team ran a short Move Up pilot during 2005/6 and further development and dissemination of this is proposed within this new project.
